| John Goddard Corner Chair Class (circa 1760 to
1775) In an age in which antiques for your home are becoming scarce or simply no longer available for purchase, join master furniture maker, George Slack, and learn the age-old techniques of furniture construction. Acquire the tricks of the trade from a master and enjoy the camaraderie of others with the same interests. An excellent piece to begin or to add to your family’s heirloom collection is an exquisite reproduction of John Goddard’s corner chair; a piece that would cost thousands to purchase (if it could be located) or to have commissioned built. To assist in building your chair and to facilitate its completion you will be provided: 1.a set of pictures of the original chair 2.a set of pictures of the class example being constructed 3.shop notes 4.full scale drawings This is a hands-on class that will significantly advance your woodworking skills and is specifically designed to allow beginners to succeed as well as the experienced woodworker to advance their construction and artistic skills. Building high style furniture requires both hand as well as artistic skills. Learn to carve a Newport style claw and ball foot and build curved joinery. Join us and take the challenge!
